Like many others, even I have landed in the US with many dreams.
Buying a sports car was one among them. In the first year of my
stay in the US, I bought a second hand Camry. In the second year,
I started planning to have a sports car.
I started
researching on the sports car market. I had to buy a car that
fits my

budget but
still has got the facilities preferred. The list of questions
I answered before making a purchase decision.
- Budget.
How much do I intend to spend?
- How much
space do I need?
- Should
I consider a convertible?
- What are
my speed transmission options?
- Engine
performance. Do I require lots of horsepower or a high-reviving
engine?
- Layout.
Whether I would like to have the horse in front of the carriage
or in the rear or mid engine.
Once I answered
the questions I prepared a checklist of things to be done:
- Consider
the resale value.
- Compare
insurance premiums, as sports cars are expensive to insure.
- Test-drive
some cars.
- Rank the
cars based on my priorities. After that, rank based on price.
Compare the two rankings and finally select two. To make sure
test-drive both these cars once again.
- After
deciding upon the car collect the pricing information of the
car on the Internet, decided on the colors and option packages.
- Get my
loan together
- Return
to the sales person and tell him what I require.
I negotiated
with the sales person and finally got my sports utility vehicle
for a good price.
