TRANSIT
visa is a temporary visa meant for travelers stopping
in any country on the way to a third country. The
period of stop over should be longer than the normal
break journeys. Few countries have restrictions that
the time halt should be more than 24 hours.

Transit
Visas are given to persons of foreign origin who wish to
stop over for purposes of:
- Continuing
a journey to another country.
- Continuing
a journey to return to their country of origin.
- To
join or work on a transport vehicle that will continue
its journey outside that country.
- In
emergency cases due to a delayed flight or journey.
Requests
for a Transit Visa would require the following supporting
documents:

A valid passport already containing a visa for the onward
country of destination, if needed;
- A
filled out copy of a visa application form provided by
the Consulate;
- One
recent passport-type photograph;
- A
ticket or itinerary print-out from a carrier or travel
agent attesting to the acquisition of the ticket, with
flight or vessel identification and dates of transit through
the country and onward destination.

| You
will receive an INS Form I-94 (Arrival/Departure Record) from an
INS inspector when arriving in the US at the port of entry. This
forms shows the date you arrived in the United States and the "Admitted
Until" date, the date when your authorized period of stay expires.
