Public Health Care

The private and government hospitals are well equipped with modern medical equipment. All the hospitals have a round the clock accident and emergency unit to cater to medical emergencies. For hospital admissions, you will have to bring along with you identification documents, a doctor's referral letter and a guarantee of payment.

Private Health Care

Singapore has a glut of private clinics in housing estates. Most of the companies provide medical benefits. Private health insurance companies could supplement this benefit by their health insurance schemes. For an ambulance, dial 995 Singapore has some of the finest medical facilities. Infant mortality is as low as 3.8 per 1000 live births and an average life expectancy of 76.6 years.

All the health care professionals are registered with the respective relevant bodies. Doctors are registered with the Singapore medical council Nurses and midwives with Singapore nursing board. Dentists are registered with the dental board. Pharmacists with the Singapore pharmacy board and] Contact lens practitioners with the Contact Lens Practitioners Board.

Singapore also has centers for special treatments of eye, heart and skin problems namely:

Dental services

The Singaporean government runs 13 dental clinics. Additionally there are six dental clinics sited in polyclinics that provide basic dental care such as check-ups, scaling, fillings, extraction's and dentures. Apart from this, there are also about 421 private dental clinics located in the city center and around housing estates.
