Singapore is a lively, multi-ethnic city-state where east amalgamates with the west and tradition merges with modernity. A blend of age-old folk trinkets with exhilarating modern spirit provides with the most cherished experiences. A city of modernity but yet so conventional with the crowded streets of Chinatown filled with fortunetellers, and temple worshippers each day.

Language
The four official languages of Singapore are Mandarin, Malay, Tamil and English. English is widely spoken and it is the language used for business and administration. Most of the Singaporeans are bilingual and can speak their mother tongue as well as English.

Religion
With its blend of races Singapore has also got a blend of religions. The city boasts of the distinct minarets of mosques and spires of gothic cathedrals on one side with the elaborate Structures of Hindu temples and the unique Chinese roof architecture on the other side. The main religions are Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism and Zoroastrianism.

Food
Singapore is a gourmet's paradise with a wide range of cuisine starting with the hawker center serving the local chow to the finest restaurants.

Climate
Singapore, with its proximity to the equator, has a tropical climate with a uniformly high average daytime temperature of 88º F (31 ºC) and a minimum of 73 °F (23 °C) at night throughout the year.
The average relative humidity is about 85% and is moderated by a cool sea breeze. Rain falls throughout the year and is heaviest during the northeast monsoon season from November to January with an average annual rainfall of 93 inches. The driest month is July. February is usually the sunniest month while December has the least sunshine.
