The coins are in denominations of 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, 50¢
and $1.
Singapore banking hours from Monday to Friday are
10 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Saturday.
Most of the banks exchange foreign currencies. Some
banks may not be having foreign exchange dealing on
Saturdays.
There
are neither any black market operations in Singapore
nor are there any restrictions on carrying currency
in or out of the state. But for the purpose of safety
it is suggested to carry not more than $1000 in the
form of cash, the rest could be taken in the form
of Traveller's Cheques.

| These
were the words of W.Hornaday, 1885 "Singapore is certainly the handiest
city I ever saw, as well planned and carefully executed as though
built entirely by one man. It is like a big desk, full of drawers
and pigeon-holes, where everything has its place, and can always be
found in it." |
